Fritz Fiedler ws born in Potsdam on January 9th, 1899 and died in Schliersee on July 8th 1972.
He was a engineer and joined BMW in 1932 as chief designer. Before he had been working for Horch, designed 8 cylinder and 12 cylinder cars.
Together with Rudolf Schleicher, Fiedler was responsible for the new series of six cylinder cars that were to set the car division of BMW on the road to success.
The first car entirely designed by Fiedler was the BMW 326 saloon that was shown at the International Automobile Ausstellung in Berlin in 1936.
