Car and Driver has gone to Pfaffenhausen, Germany, to take a look at Ruf Automobile and to drive its classic Ruf CTR and modern CTR3. Ruf is technically its own automaker. It might look like a Porsche, but Ruf buys bodies-in-white from Porsche and modifies everything before selling them as their own cars. Ruf has existed for ages modifying and repairing Porsches, but it became famous in the US in the 80s when it was entered into a top speed test and blew the top cars of the day out of the water.
