Alejandro de Tomaso was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, (10 July 1928 - 21 May 2003) and he was a prominent pilot and industrialist based in Argentina.

As a pilot, de Tomaso competed in two Formula One World Championship GPs but wasn't able to score any championship points. He did however achieve success when he created the italian based sports car company De Tomaso Automobili in 1959.

Alejandro de Tomaso died in 2003 in Italy at the age of 74.
